Christmas shopping list got you stressed?
Does the thought of going to the shopping centre with all the crowds give you palpations? Is it tempting to just sit on your couch and let your fingers do the shopping?
You know what’s even better and has the added bonus of making you feel good in the process? Shopping local.
Every time you spend money in a locally owned store not only are you supporting the jobs in your local community you helping to keep someone’s dream alive. So many people put a lot of love and sweat into providing beautiful products and services that they hope you will also love.
This blog was going to be just about what we here at CrossFit Southern Highlands could help you with at Christmas time, and it still is!! We have a gift voucher to suit everybody. It can buy your recipient a massage, a personal training session, 10 visits to CrossFit or just an open amount that they can choose to spend however they want! Supplements, apparel or all of the above. You name the amount and we’ll organise it for you.
HOWEVER, I was recently on Facebook and someone in a local business group asked the others in the group to share what products and services they had as she wanted to try and do as much of her Christmas shopping local as possible. I thought this was a wonderful idea and I thought why just promote myself? There’s so many fantastic local business’ and we should all be doing the same as the lovely Facebook questioner. So I’ve added links to the people that responded. There’s some brilliant ideas here, from original art, one off pieces of jewellery and fashion, hand woven baskets, hampers, Christmas pastries and gingerbread houses, locally printed stationery and wrapping, vouchers for many things including an oven and BBQ clean (how good would this be!?), organic hand made beauty products and oils, kids apparel, naturopathic teas, dancer needs, home wares, free range meat and eggs, plants and topiaries, baby massage courses, personal training, and even the gift to someone you love (or yourself) of learning to manage your money to make 2019 the one that you finally stop stressing about money!
I was honestly blown away by the range of goods. And I’m sure there are so many more tucked away in our beautiful towns. We just have to leave the house, avoid the crowds in the big towns and explore the gems we have right here.
